E and I took a trip to Seattle in January over MLK weekend. Temperatures ranged in the 30s so it was pretty freezing cold, coming from the Bay Area. We were there for 3 nights and did mostly city stuff since we didn't want to deal with chains and snow tires and ice while driving out for a hike. Here's what I brought:
OUTERWEAR: Black Quilted Jacket, Calvin Klein - I wore this throughout my time in Chicago; even though it's synthetic, it repels water and snow well while keeping me warm.
Navy Rib Sweater, Uniqlo
Gray Merino Sweater, Uniqlo
Light Gray 1/4-Zip Tech Top, North Face
Turquoise Flannel Button Shirt, Gap
Black T-Shirt, Uniqlo Heattech
Light Gray Long Sleeve Top, Uniqlo Heattech
Red/Gray Scarf, bought from Bhutan
2x Merino Ankle Socks
2x Bras, 3x Underwear
1 Sleep Shirt, 1 Sleep Shorts
What I would do differently: take a couple less items of clothing - since it was cold, I definitely could have re-worn a couple things, and/or washed my Heattech shirts in the hotel sink since they tend to dry quickly. Otherwise, I packed pretty efficiently and definitely wore every single item I brought. Always a good sign.
